New Therapies

During the past years, various new drugs and therapies were developed for the fight against cancer. So far, none of these new therapies can replace standard therapies to achieve complete healing. They do provide, however, a supplement to standard therapies, with additional chances for a better quality of life and longer life expectation. In these “targeted therapies”, the new drugs specifically attack cancer cells.

KFO 227 and its subprojects focus on tumor progression and the development of metastases in colorectal cancer. In the long run, these research projects should lead to new treatment options that will be tested in clinical trials.
